You might think this is an ordinary photo… but out here in the desert this is a rarity. My friend Debbie has grown an approximate 3′ x 5′ patch of grass for her dogs to roll around in. As you’ve seen from my desert golf photos, not even our golf courses have grass!
For this image I first cropped to show the best part of the lawn… doggies have a way of making some of the grass not so very green at all. Then, using Aperture, I ran it through the auto enhance to adjust levels and add a bit of vibrancy. Then, I selectively burned grass blades. Finally, I tried something new; I did a “round trip” out to PSE to add this “dreamy” frame; first blurring the edge and then spray painting black around a slimmer edge to give a grudge look.
