When I saw this theme listed, I thought it would be one of the easier ones to fulfill.  I’m surprise at how much trouble I’m having finding both an interesting foreground and background.  I think this one does the trick.

Does anyone know what the tree is?  I have just wasted an hour (or more) trying to figure it out.  I’m beginning to think it is not a native Arizonian tree. Let  me know if you need a close-up to help identify it.

  1. Well done! Odd isn’t it how an easy seeming theme or shot turns challenging. Great light in this and a bet the shade is welcome from such fast growing trees.

  2. Sure looks like eucalyptus to me! We have lots in California. Love the detail in the frond-like branches.

  3. I’m glad Ron was able to identify the tree. I know oak and maples – everything else is a tree!

Nice job on the theme. The background supports very well the foreground.

  4. Not a clue…but this definitely works…I think it is harder to fill the themes when you think too much! :)

    • I know! Some themes just come… others are so ellusive, even when you think they are easy. I laugh at myself sometimes.

I just did a check and Ron is absolutely correct — it matches a LONG LEAF EUCALYPUTUS! Now, can I have a Koala Bear?

  5. a great background to the nice smalling tree at front, great photo for the theme

  6. Give me a Home among the Gum Trees,
Not the Plum trees, a sheep or two and a kangaroo.

Yep long leaf Eucalyptus for sure, Koalas love em.
In my opinion one of the best foregrounds Arizona could provide!

    But then I’m Biased.
