It’s been very windy here… and thus a bit difficult to take flower photos… but still, I persist.  Today I am posting yellow blooms.  Tomorrow I will choose a different color.

These were taken at various times, info from top to bottom:

#1: Time taken: 5:54pm  Settings: ISO 80, Aperture: f/5.8 Shutter speed: 1/250 28.5mm  Adjustments: Applied the blue desert preset which made the green stems pop better, filling the screen with more color.

#2: Time taken: 3:54pm  Settings: ISO 80, Aperture: f/8 Shutter speed: 1/200 7.7mm Adjustments: Adjusted levels and  vibrancy.

#3: Time taken: 4:00pm  Settings: ISO 80, Aperture: f/8 Shutter speed: 1/400 7.7mm Adjustments: Used the Blue Desert preset

#4: Time taken: 11:18am  Settings: ISO 80, Aperture: f/8 Shutter speed: 1/320 7.7mm  Adjustments: Cropped photo, adjusted levels, brushed in definition.

#5: Time taken: 11:20am  Settings: ISO 80, Aperture: f/8 Shutter speed: 1/320 7.7mm  Adjustments: Adjusted levels and brushed in definition.

#6: Time taken: 3:58pm  Settings: ISO 80, Aperture: f/8 Shutter speed: 1/250 7.7mm (Exposure Compensation set at -0.03). Adjustments: Since flowers not as clear as I’d like, I ran through a Terra Bruciata preset and then I manually adjusted the preset.

  1. […] posted some great YELLOW BLOOMS in April… and now see that I should have saved that posting for May. Compared to those […]

  2. Wow, these are all lovely! I especially like the closeup of the second shot. Great detail and lighting. Again, late in the day?

  3. If you are dealing with the winds we are here, you did a great job at capturing clear details! Nice!

    • I’ve been taking advantage of going to the model airfield with Carl late afternoon.. I figure if the winds have died down enough for the guys to fly then, it must be o.k. for me to take photos. Not quite true.. but with patience I’ve been able to sneak in shots. I am learning though that you can get the shot, but the clarity isn’t pristine.
