spoke -clarity lens effect restyle 1777

“Did I say that?” By this monkey’s expression, he may have already have spoken those “evil” words.  I am loving TOPAZ ReStyle.  Just to show you what it can do, here is the original image, after running it through Topaz Clarity and Lens Effect / UV Haze: Continue reading »

falling to pieces 1727

My bucket list of things to try includes working with textures in PSE.

Two days ago, I threw this flower in my trash can at work. I liked the way it looked against the white trash bag and snuck my camera out for a shot of it. I wanted to create something “sad” from it and I worked on this a bit last night and this morning, using desaturation tricks and such between Apeture and Topaz. I was almost satisfied with it but not quite, but alas it was time to go to work.   Then as I was walking to work, I had an epiphany: what if I tried one of the Shadowhouse Textures?  So, I worked on it a bit at lunch in PSE, got the gist of what I needed to do, deleted it  and started over when I came home from work. What do you think?

I started a new job today at our local bank as a New Accounts Representative… although by bank standards our dress code is rather casual, it was impressed upon me that we should always look pressed. Hence my two new tools… an iron with lots of steam and a counter top ironing board, just about the right size to be used in an RV. Although the Warning sign pertains to making sure the RV is vented when cooking, I couldn’t help but get a chuckle out of this message in relation to my new tools and my new job.

Anyway, good news is that I now have a full time job with benefits. Bad news is that I have less time for photography. Given that I seemed not to have enough time before…. well let’s just see how this plays out.

This was processed in Topaz Simplify using the Sketch Color preset.

Funny thing is, we do have a Yacht Club in Quartzsite.  I had intended to get a photo of the seagull on the mooring, but apparently they store the seagull for the summer season; as like most everything here, the Yacht Club is closed for the season. First hint that it’s not a real yacht club, huh?

I am leaving for NH tomorrow evening… so I hope to get a better nautical photo during my vacation… if not nautical at last the seaside!

I found this perfectly flattened fork in one of the BLM short term camping areas.  I like the way the shadows play on the fork.

I altered the coloring in the image by playing with the hue… and I added a vignette to help focus on the fork.
