Halloween Cactus 723

ISO 80 f/8 1/125; 7.7mm; 6:38am in May 2010 (Canon  Powershot SD950 IS)

I took this in May and have been waiting until now to post it.  If I was really participating in the Alphabet challenge, this would be disqualified since we are suppose to take current pics each week.  But I’m making up my own rules.  Anyway, I got a kick out of how ghoulish this cactus look when I got down low and took the photo straight on.

  1. Yikes! Scary faces along with those wicked spines.

  2. certainly perfect for the theme, a very interesting photo in that angle

  3. Which WoW Syster grew those in her Garden Judi, I have a mental picture of Morticia Addams feeding her plant with a bowl of mince meat! Was it Karen (klsbear) I see a resemblance when she hits the Wild Turkey!

  4. You really did catch an unusual pattern in this cactus. Perfect for the season.

You asked me about the software I used to create the sketch of my cat. I have been using Photoshop CS5, but it could be created in Elements since the pencil sketch tut was written for Elements: http://www.photoshopcstutorials.co.uk/html/pencil_drawing_elements.html
I revised it to allow me to bring back the color that I wanted.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving comments. I learn from your suggestions!

  5. That cactus would scare me in the dark LOL This is wonderful! :)
